life.
no one reads this. i don't care.
now in my life, i am figuring out how to put it in my control. music, i must make songs, do the things i need to, write songs, record them, work out ideas, getting more ideas on better and more unusual chords. means i need to expand my chord vocabulary and all that. then there's getting a job, wherein i've applied to starbucks. 7.50 an hour, plus benefits and a pound of coffee a week.
then there's living.
yeah.
my life, i just need to put it in my control. but for one last month, i think i'll be at the will of 5 more radiohead concerts. then. that. yeah. i've been writing songs. wrote a few yesterday. :|
and i'm living with family at the moment. not immediate family. i'm getting further apart from my dad. he's got his girlfriend, who i suspect might be using him.
i just want to have a band. i need to get that started. but i know what i want. i know what i need to do. i'm a good pianist and guitarist for two years. i am getting better.
blah.
my life.

Amsterdam
So...
I found my way into a youth hostel today. Lugging up the luggage. Whatever. It's nice here. I failed at rolling a joint.
I've smoked two though. Joints. Marijuana. They were my first times. The first time I came out so stoned, out of my mind. The second time, I created bad poetry. Again. It's a common occurrence.

Recording today...
I'm going into the studio today. Or rather, my uncle's studio. We're going to record and make beautiful music. I've been working on some songs, chord progressions anyway, the lyrics are absolute shite, but I'll find someway to make it work.
At the moment, I'm listening to Radiohead on shuffle. It's a 4-track recording of The Bends. It's nice.
Yesterday, I finished midterms, was really tired, and I hung out with a guy named Christian, where I tried out some soloing over some of his stuff. We're thinking of forming a band, like beats and stuff with like some traditional instruments and making it all eclectic and stuff.
I also hung out with my friends, Sheena, Matt, Samantha and John (except Matt left after something to do with Sheena). The other four of us decided we were going to go to karaoke, where I did No Surprises. And had what Sheena didn't want of her drink. I felt good getting buzzed before I went up to do my song.
Now my dad is going to San Francisco for the weekend.
I'll be hanging out with my mom's side of the family, since I don't do that enough when my dad is here. It's a good plan anyway.

My Music Post
Hello.
I am a boy of 19 years of age.
I guess that's how I can begin this mercilessly sad tale of my existence. I have taken it upon myself to create a blogger account. Thought it might be fun.
There are things you might want to know about me.
I have 4925 songs on my computer (a 17" G4 Powerbook OSX 10.3.9), which is not quite a Tiger, more of a Panther type. Anyway, people call me JP, but my full name is something else. And I actually feel okay saying stuff about me.
I'm looking to form a band.
Something like that.

You're a Post-Punk. You know 70s punk was cool, but
it was mostly just a stepping stone for the
greater intellectualism of what would come
after. The 80s were amazing. You quite possibly
have huge hair, and may wear lots of black.
Snare drums need reverb. Lots and lots of
reverb.
You Know Yer Indie. Let's Sub-Categorize.
brought to you by Quizilla
I like a lot of bands. Mainly along the lines of some metal (Tool, A Perfect Circle), some prog rock (Marillion, Pineapple Thief, Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, Yes, Coheed and Cambria, Pink Floyd), some goth rock (Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilim), some electronica/dance (Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Autechre, Bjork, The Chemical Brothers, The Faint, Scissor Sisters, and Squarepusher), some post punk (The Fall, Joy DIvision, Magazine, and stuff like Radiohead, The Beatles, David Bowie, Guns N' Roses, Jeff Buckley, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Queen, R.E.M., Damien Rice, Lowen and Navarro, Bad Religion, Beck, The Clash, The Cure, Death Cab For Cutie, The Flaming Lips, Japan, Modest Mouse, Muse, Nirvana, Pixies, The Ramones, The Redwalls, Sigur Ros, Smashing Pumpkins, The Verve and The Unbelievable Truth.
Although I probably forgot some in my haste.
I play guitar, am trying out both rhythm and lead, as well as making weird noises; I also play piano and do vocals, and want to be lead vocalist whenever I do form a band.
That's all there is to know about me at the moment. I'll continue to add more stuff so you can look past what I've said thus far.
Enjoy.
